Steam Era Model's etched brass WT water tank wagon.

Rollingstock

WT water tank wagon

The Victorian Railways built a total of 180 WT wagons from 1902 to 1910 of the design to the right. These wagons were used for carting water for all sorts of purposes throughout Victoria, including domestic supply for communities in drought.

The number series was continued beyond 180 as numerous tender tanks and other tank wagons were converted to use as water tanks for similar purposes.

This model is a brass etched kit by Steam Era Models. It is easily assembled and a great item to try for those beginning to solder. However, for those not interested in soldering, it can be assembled with various glues and epoxies.

An etch primer undercoat is applied before an overall wagon red colour. Decals are applied before a light weathering and final dull coat with Estapol.
