NU louvre van

The NU wooden louvre van is of similar appearance to the broad gauge 10'6'' wheelbase wooden louvre vans built by the railways for perishable traffic.

The wagons began work in 1899 as NUU wagons, and built in several batches until 1911.1

Classification later changed to NU, under the VR's standardised lettering classification program.

This wagon is built from castings produced by Ian Lindsay Models, and rides atop the same whitemetal bogies offered in many of ILM kits.

The wagon has been finished off in VR's more modern wagon red, and MicroTrains N scale auto couplers.
