M cattle wagon

The Victorian Railways built the first M cattle wagon in 1861 and V/Line withdrew the last wagons in 1988 after deregulation of rail freight.

The models represented by SEM kits feature a steel and wood construction set on top of SEM's standard 10'6'' wheel base underframes.

The kit includes decals, wheelsets, extensive instructions and diagrams. The modeller needs to supply their own couplers and paint (also available from SEM).

The model M wagon to the right is a standard

example, with wagon red finished off with a slight grey weathering.

Shunter's steps and handbrake have also been applied (sold separately) while the moulded on grab irons and uncoupling rod have been shaved off and replaced with brass wire for that little something extra.
