LL sheep wagon

The LL sheep wagon was first constructed by the VR in 1928, totalling some 50 wagons in the class. From the 1960s on, wagons we placed on different bogies for different purposes (passenger speed, freight speed) and so wagons received differential coding to reflect these changes.

The last wagon was withdrawn from service in 1985.

This model is built using three of Steam Era Models' L four wheel sheep wagons. It is 3mm wider to reflect the extra width the bogie wagons exhibited over their fixed wheel counterparts. It features etched brass steps, brake handle and chain, lost wax brake hose, SEM bogies and newly fabricated side sills and roof from styrene.

Additionally, rivets were salvaged from I open wagons and applied to the side sills. The wagon was then finished off with overall wagon red and weathering.
