SG Brake Vans

Postby Laidlaym » Tue Aug 29, 2017 9:51 am

I am looking for advice as to what brake vans were typical in the early days of the NE SG line.

At some point we saw NSWGR vans but I suspect that was late in the days of brake vans, I want to know what was typical in the 1960s.

All NSWGR vans all the time.

Except for some Z vans regauged and used on works trains and 1 & 2 CS and a CE (with suitable NSW codes) for use on the SoP.

SDS make some really nice NSWGR vans in all applicable eras. I have a few even though I don't model SG. They should have something in their range to suit what you are in need of.

Hi Mark,
Check Bau's website - 1967 north eastern timetable lists NSW stock that can travel in VIC, which included BHG,PHG, LHG, MHG etc. Its about 3/4 through the document. Not sure which vans where used the most, but that's a start.
