Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to the clubrooms last night.

Good to finally put faces to names!

And glad to hear it did go well for you, VRfan. And a big effort by toxation to make it, as well!

Although I don't think we'd be able to fit it in with him, time wise, we do have another Free-mo AU'er with a couple of much larger, more completed modules that we ran on last time. I'll try to get him to come along to one of the next dates in the poll, if possible.

Just wondering how the meet went.

Although there are some parts of the Free-mo AU standards I don't like, I'm happy to go with them if it means we get the ball rolling fairly soon (mainly because I actually want to get started on this!). Even if we make a subset of rules (regarding scenery mainly!) for our own system, but make them directly compatible.

Pretty well, lots of discussion on both days, and hopefully some useful information was shared! :)

Which parts in particular, out of interest? Just curious, of course. (It would be great to get the ball rolling) End of the day, as long as a train can get from one module to the next, then that's the main thing, I suppose. We can still join up the two 'groups' of modules, scenery doesn't affect the trains (mostly!) so that should be ok.

I was more looking at what the current thoughts with the VRE modular layout system was from the meets :)

As was discussed earlier, the VRE modular system was going to be slightly more 'dedicated' to make a less 'modular' looking layout, that is still modular :)

Oh, right, got ya. I wasn't there to see it, although I suppose if the tracks line up, there's not too much of an issue.

Depends what you're going for I suppose? Either a semi-permanent layout that always connects the same way, or modules that can be connected different ways each time.

Just thought I'd post some more potential upcoming dates in February '12 if anyone is interested in coming out to the MMRC clubrooms while we have a few new Free-mo AU modules on display for a couple more Run Days?

We might be looking at possibly the 18th and 25th Feb '12.

Once we hear back from a few more members on the Free-mo AU group, I'll let everyone know of the finalised dates.
