Digitrax is the way to go, i have used it for 5 years and never had a problem with it.
at AMRA we use digitrax and it works great.

Just an update, the MMRC will be purchasing a NCE 5A Radio system soon, with a couple of additional throttles.

Not sure if that changes anything for the VR-Enthusiast modular layout, but thought I'd mention it. :D
